Crisp and flaky cheese straws speckled with fresh herbs make a delicious and fun hors d'oeuvre. 

 

These crisp and flaky cheese straws are delicious with a bowl of tomato or vegetable soup. Though they look like bread sticks, they’re more akin to savory pie crust or pastry. 

Ingredient

1 big sheet puff pastry defrosted 

2 Tbsp. olive oil 

garlic salt to taste 

pepper to taste 

light dusting of Italian Herb Blend  

1/4 cup grated parmesan 

1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Instruction

Preheat oven to 400 F/200 C

Place thawed puff pastry sheet on a sheet of parchment paper and brush on olive oil.

Sprinkle with garlic salt, pepper, and a little bit of Italian Herb Blend. Sprinkle cheese over sheet.

Place another sheet of parchment paper on top and press down the ingredients firmly into the dough with your fingers.

Cut each sheet into 1/2"-1" strips. Twist each strip and set it on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Some cheese might fall off. Just pick it up and sprinkle onto the straws.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and breadsticks start to turn golden. Enjoy! ❤️
